Neville
(Pick) and Pauline Pickering have a background in hospitality going
back 15 years.
Pick was born in Havelock and spent time in the high country as a musterer
in Central Otago and as a stud shepherd in North Canterbury before moving
into the shearing industry for 25 years. A change in life's direction
saw Pick enter the hospitality industry in the early 1990s.
Pauline comes from the deep south, but spent a major part of her life
in Canterbury before moving to Marlborough with Pick in December 1999
to manage the Trout Hotel in Canvastown.
They have been managing the Havelock Motor Camp since June 2003 and
have varied interests between them including sports, especially Rugby,
Fishing, Reading, outdoor bowls, community activities and animals, they
have a Jack Russell named Buck, a cat called C.C. (Camp Cat) and 2 canaries.
They'd have a whole barnyard of pets, but that might happen in the future,
at present they enjoy the pets visiting the camp and have even been
known to dog sit for campers going out on the mail-boat who don't want
their pet to be anxious.
